6 puppies, rabbit, dog rescued from apartment fire in Lake Worth

Pets reunited with owner

LAKE WORTH, Fla. – A dog, six puppies and a rabbit were rescued from an apartment fire Sunday morning in Lake Worth, Palm Beach County Fire Rescue said.

The fire took place at about 2:07 a.m. at the Oakwood Apartments complex in the 2400 block of Second Avenue North.

When firefighters arrived, there was smoke coming from the the building. They were also told that the pets were inside.

Shortly after firefighters went inside the building, flames blew out the windows.

Firefighters got the fire under control and prevented it from spreading to any adjacent apartments, Palm Beach County Fire Rescue said.

They also found the dog, puppies and rabbit and reunited them with their owner.

There were no reports of injuries.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
