Miami-Dade Fire-Rescue workers said they transported several middle school students to hospitals Thursday after the kids took Xanax at school.

According to the Miami-Dade School Board, a boy brought the pills to school, took one, and gave pills to five friends.

Rescue workers took the six students to area hospitals for observation. All of them are expected to be OK.

Officials said they were not sure where the boy got the pills or if he was selling them. They said it is likely the boy will be suspended and recommended for expulsion. There was no word if the other students would be disciplined.
