MIAMI - Customs and Border Protection officials found 459 pounds of cocaine in a container at Port Miami.
Officials said officers were inspecting containers at the port May 29 when they found suspicious boxes in a container. A drug-sniffing dog was brought in and alerted the officers that there were drugs present.
The 169 bricks of drugs, which were tested and came back positive for cocaine, were hidden in eight cardboard boxes in a container that originated in Panama, made stops in Colombia and Mexico, and arrived in Miami from Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic, customs officials said.
Customs and Border Protection said the cocaine is worth about $7.3 million.
No arrests have been made.
