Three months after the Port of Miami tunnel project began, Harriet, the Tunnel Boring Machine, has excavated over 700 feet.
Excavation work is expected to continue until the summer when Harriet will exit on Dodge Island.
Currently, Harriet is stopped for maintenance but the machine will soon resume tunneling under the MacArthur Causeway.
Meantime, workers on Dodge Island are excavating a receiving put for Harriet.
The billion dollar project got underway in November.
