Davie police arrested a Miami Dolphins player Wednesday on domestic violence charges.

Police said the wife of Damion McIntosh, Precious, called 911 at about 10:40 a.m. When officers arrived at the home at 2196 Lynx Ave., they said that McIntosh directed them to a bathroom where they found his wife facedown on the floor. They said that she was unresponsive.

Officers said that McIntosh told them he and his wife were arguing when he pushed her to the floor. He told officers that she had "hit her head pretty hard."

Davie Fire-Rescue treated McIntosh's wife at the home before transporting her to the Cleveland Clinic in Weston.

After officers were able to speak with McIntosh's wife, they arrested him. He is charged with domestic violence. Police officers said he was "extremely cooperative" during the investigation.

McIntosh was held overnight in the Broward County jail and appeared before a domestic violence judge Thursday morning. He is currently out on bond, but was ordered not to come within 500 feet of his wife. His right to bear arms has also been suspended, and he is not allowed to consume any alcohol.

There was no word on his wife's condition.

According to the Dolphins' roster, McIntosh, who wears No. 77, is a 6-foot 4-inch, 320-pound offensive tackle.
