MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – A 3-year-old boy was burned Tuesday while his older sibling played with a lighter inside their home in southwest Miami-Dade County.
The incident was reported shortly before noon at 14040 SW 267th Terrace.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue officials said the child suffered significant injuries.
Sky 10 was above Jackson Memorial Hospital as the child was airlifted to the Ryder Trauma Center.
Police said the children's mother was at the home at the time of the incident.
The Department of Children and Families is conducting an investigation into the incident and said they have had prior contact with the family.
The boy's condition has not been released.
