8 arrested in South Florida organized crime ring bust

$2 million worth of merchandise stolen from electronic stores

PEMBROKE PARK, Fla. – The Florida Department of Law Enforcement has announced the arrest of eight people allegedly involved in an organized crime ring that swept the southeast United States.

With the help of local authorities throughout Florida, the following people from South Florida have been charged in burglaries throughout Florida, Tennessee, Georgia and Alabama:

Investigators say the suspects used stolen cars to crash through doors at major electronic stores, such as Best Buy, h.h. gregg, and Comp USA in order to steal Apple products. About $2 million in merchandise was stolen.

Authorities are still searching for two more people involved in the burglaries.
