MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – Nine people and a dog were rescued Sunday afternoon after their boat began to sink near Broad Causeway, Miami-Dade Fire Rescue Lt. Felipe Lay said.
A man on the boat experienced a cardiac episode during the incident, Lay said. He was taken to a nearby hospital.
None of the other passengers, including a child, needed medical attention.
Firefighters reminded boaters in a media release to always use life vests and to check safety equipment prior to launch.
