911 call released in dad's murder-suicide
Police: Victoria Zavala calls police after her husband Isidro Zavala kills their children
Police released the 911 call made by a woman who witnessed her estranged husband kill two of their children and then commit suicide.
Victoria Zavala made the call Saturday. According to Boynton Beach Police, her husband, Isidro Zavala, strangled their 12-year-old son Eduardo with a rope then shot their 11-year-old son Marco to death.
During the attack, the woman begged and fought with him to spare their sons.
In the recording, Victoria Zavala is heard sobbing and then screaming into the phone as the dispatcher tried to calm her.
"Hello?" the dispatcher said. "Ma'am, I cannot understand you with the screaming and crying. You need to take a deep breath and calm down so I can understand you."
"I need the paramedics and I need the police," Zavala said. "My husband killed my children."
"He killed your children?" the dispatcher asked. "Victoria, what did he do to them?"
"He shot them," she said. "Please hurry up."
When asked if the father still has the gun, Victoria replied, "Yes... Hurry up, hurry up, hurry up, I need my children."
"Oh my God, my child is cold," she said while crying.
The couple had been separated for some time. Police said they had never been called to the home for any domestic issues.
The couple also has a 19-year-old son, who was not home at the time of the deaths.
