FORT LAUDEREDALE, Fla. – The Broward Sheriff's Office on Monday released the 911 call made by a Tamarac man who fatally shot his wife in the head while she was asleep in their bed.
"My gun just went off and shot my wife by accident," Jason Browdy told the 911 dispatcher.
Browdy was arrested on a murder charge after the June 30 shooting at 5720 Tuscany Terrace.

"She's in bed," Browdy told the dispatcher.
The dispatcher asked Browdy where he put the gun.
"It's in my room," Browdy said.
When the dispatcher asked him to explain what happened, Browdy said he shot her "next to her face."
Once police arrived, the dispatcher gave Browdy instructions for coming out of his house.
"Listen to me, the police are outside," she said. "They need you to come outside with your hands up. OK?"
Monique Browdy, 33, was pronounced dead at Broward Health Medical Center.
According to the arrest report, Jason Browdy gave inconsistent statements while being questioned in his wife's death.
Detectives said Jason Browdy admitted that he sleeps with a gun under his pillow because of drug activity in the neighborhood. Detectives said Browdy initially claimed that the gun discharged as he sat up in bed, but later said the gun accidentally fired while he was standing up.
A medical examiner said neither incident is possible given the evidence, and the shooter had to have been standing over the victim and in close proximity.
Judge John Hurley said during Jason Browdy's bond hearing that it took him nearly an hour to call 911.
"He waits 40 minutes to make a phone call to get emergency services to the house," Hurley said.
Jason Browdy remains in jail without bond.
