FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. -

Police released 911 calls made during a drive-by shooting involving rapper Rick Ross.

The shooting happened near Las Olas Boulevard and 15th Avenue about 5 a.m. Monday. Ross told police a car pulled up alongside his Rolls Royce and began firing, causing him to crash into a building.

"I just heard a bunch of gunshots go off and a car sped by," one caller told a 911 operator.

One caller reported hearing at least nine shots. Not one hit Ross, his passenger, or the car, leading some to believe the shooting was staged.

"I don't know. They're coming back. I'm hiding," answered the caller.

The gunfire also woke up several people living in the neighborhood.

"Yo, I heard gunfire," said one caller.

"Fort Lauderdale on Las Olas," said the caller.
