Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard will put her future in the hands of her Labor Party parliamentary colleagues next Monday, she told reporters Thursday in Adelaide. Her announcement ends months of speculation about a challenge to her leadership by Kevin Rudd, whom she replaced as prime minister in 2010.

DC-Capitol-Bomb-Plot (will replace DC-Capitol-Bomber)

A Moroccan man charged with plotting a suicide bomb attack on the U.S. Capitol building will remain in jail, a federal judge ruled Wednesday. Amine El Khalifi made a brief appearance in federal court and waived his right to have a preliminary hearing and to contest his detention.
