An Everglades airboat captain who lost his hand while feeding an alligator was arrested in Collier County on Friday.

Captain Wally Weatherholt lost his hand in June while working for Captain Doug's Tours in Everglades City.

Witnesses said he was feeding an alligator when it jumped out of the water and bit his hand off. The alligator involved in the attack was euthanized.

Police did not immediately confirm whether or not Captain Wally's arrest Friday was related to the incident in June.
