Ambulance crashes; Driver injured

Paramedics responded to a crash involving an ambulance in Miami-Dade County on Thursday afternoon.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue said the crash happened at the intersection of Southwest 8th St. and 107th Ave. That's right near Florida International University's south campus.

It appears a gray Volkswagen Beetle collided with the ambulance.

There was no patient in the ambulance at the time of the crash, said fire rescue.

The driver had to be extricated from the ambulance, but there was no immediate word about the extent of the injuries.
