Arson suspected in Fla. Keys home fire
Authorities say alleged arsonist set 3 separate fires inside Fla. Keys home
ISLAMORADA, Fla. (AP) — Deputies are investigating a suspicious home fire in the Florida Keys.
Firefighters say there were clear indications of arson in Sunday's fire inside an Islamorada home. Firefighters said it appeared someone set three separate fires. All the windows and doors had been left open or unlocked and bottles of alcohol were scattered around the home.
Monroe County Sheriff's officials say the owner of the home said he did not leave any alcohol bottles inside when he last visited the property a month ago.
The owner also says the home is in foreclosure and is for sale. He says he has not made a payment on it in over a year. The home sustained minimal damage in the fire.
The fire marshal will investigate.
