DEERFIELD BEACH, Fla. -

The Broward Sheriff's Office is investigating after a deputy found a body that had washed ashore along Deerfield Beach Wednesday morning.

Investigators say the victim is a male, but they were not immediately able to identify him.

A BSO deputy on ATV patrol found the body just after 3 a.m. near the 900 block of Southeast 21st Avenue.

BSO is classifying the case as a homicide investigation.
