The state attorney’s office officially filed charges Wednesday against a band booster accused of sexually molesting students at Cypress Bay High School.
Michael Jacobs, 43, now faces 25 counts. The information lists 10 alleged victims, all male students under the age of 18. Many of the alleged victims came forward after the original complaint.
Among the allegations is a claim that Jacobs engaged in sex acts with a student. Some of the charges include lewd and lascivious behavior and providing drugs to the students.
Jacobs is accused of being at it for years, nurturing relationships starting when the teenagers were children and using the trust he had built with them and their parents.
He was the president of the parent-teacher association at Everglades Elementary School and the head of the band booster club at Falcon Cove Middle School and later served as the head of the band booster club at Cypress Bay High School.
Additionally, he coached several athletic teams in the community.
