MIAMI – Miami-Dade police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run that killed a bicyclist Sunday morning.
Police say the driver struck 50-year-old Alejandro Hermis from behind near Northwest 151st Street and 2nd Avenue about 6:30 a.m.

The driver dragged Hermis about 50 feet, stopping twice in an attempt to dislodge him from underneath his Dodge Durango.
Hermis was killed in the crash.

The light-colored sport utility vehicle was last seen traveling at a high-rate of speed eastbound on Northwest 151st Street, then southbound on Biscayne River Drive.
Investigators say the 2011-2013 Durango likely has front-end damage.
