26-year-old John Michael Romero Mendoza of Boca Raton was arrested and charged with enticement of a minor over the internet.

Police say in June, Mendoza used an on-line social networking application to contact and attempt to meet a 15-year-old boy for the purpose of engaging in sexual activity. Mendoza was actually talking to an undercover officer, posing as a minor as part of a joint investigation to locate on-line predators.

Mendoza sent a pornographic image to the officer before traveling to meet what Mendoza thought was a young boy.

A pre-trial detention hearing is set for June 18. Mendoza faces a maximum of life in prison if convicted.
