A man's body was discovered with a plastic bag over his head Thursday, floating in a Davie canal, police said.

South Florida Water Management employees were working near Southwest 14th Street and Southwest 121st Avenue when they found a body floating in the canal.

Davie police said the body was that of a man between 50 and 60 years old. They are looking into the case as a homicide based on the way the bag was affixed to the head.

Police continue to investigate.
