Miami-Dade says water pipe ruptured during preventative maintenance

MIAMI LAKES, Fla. -

Officials say residents are being advised to avoid the area of NW 64th Avenue and Miami Lakeway N in Miami Lakes due to a waterline break.

Miami-Dade County said during preventative maintenance on a fire hydrant on Thursday, a water pipe had ruptured.

A localized boil water order is being issued for two nearby multi-family apartment buildings.

The county says it is the priority of the Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department to provide safe, reliable service to its customers.
