Boy, 4, nearly drowns in Oakland Park
Child in critical condition at Holy Cross
A 4-year-old boy was in critical condition after nearly drowning Monday in an Oakland Park swimming pool.
Investigators said there was a birthday party Monday afternoon at 4101 NW 13th Ave.
The Broward Sheriff's Office said the guests cleared the pool to get some refreshments, and the child's father's girlfriend spotted him in the deep end of the pool.
The woman jumped in and pulled the boy out, and his grandfather performed CPR on him.
Oakland Park Fire Rescue arrived and transported the boy to Holy Cross Medical Center.
The boy was listed in critical condition. BSO said the boy will be transferred to a children's medical facility.
