Broward County Public Schools holds anti-bullying conference Saturday

Conference will be held at Piper High School in Sunrise

SUNRISE, Fla. ā€“ Broward County Public Schools is holding an anti-bullying conference Saturday morning, in the hopes of putting the brakes on bullying.

The ā€˜Red Flags Anti-Bullying Conference: What are the Warning Signs? From Danger to Dialogue,' is scheduled for Saturday morning from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Piper High School. The address is 8000 NW 44th Street in Sunrise.

BCPS says the conference is an anti-bullying, health and safety conference for parents, teachers and community members to discover ways to use information learned in workshops to assist children.Ā  Broward County Public Schools Superintendent Robert W. Runcie will be a featured speaker at the event.

Participants will also watch the Oscar winning short film "Trevor", which will set the tone and frame the conference workshops and discussion. Participants will then be able to choose three workshops to attend.

Translators will be available for those who need it. The eventĀ  is free and open to the public.
