Scott Israel defeats incumbent Al Lamberti in the race for Broward Sheriff.

"I feel so blessed," Israel said. "I'm a very strong leader. I'm compassionate. I will bring diversity. I think if you're going to lead Broward County, you ought to know God, and I do. He'll get me through it."

"I spent the last 35 years of my life at the Broward Sheriff's Office serving the people of Broward County. That in itself has been an honor and a privilege to be the first sheriff in the history of the BSO to come up the ranks. That is an honor and a privilege I will always treasure," said Lamberti.
