MIAMI -

Burn patients returned to Ryder Trauma Center on Wednesday to thank the doctors and caregivers who saved their lives.

It was an emotional reunion for some, including Michael Brewer, who was set on fire by a group of teenagers in October 2009.

"Joy and happiness because I just see the people who saved my life and who are there for me all the time," Brewer said.

Brewer had burns on two-thirds of his body, and for five weeks, he was in a medically induced coma at Jackson Memorial Hospital.

"I just want to thank them for saving my life," Brewer said.

Brewer was all smiles, but he was a bit emotional as he stepped back into the Trauma Center.

The celebration continues to grow as doctors help more burn victims get their lives back on track.
