A car crashed into a Dania Beach motel Friday morning, killing the driver.
Police say guests at the motel heard a loud bang and rushed to help.
The single-vehicle crash happened about 6 a.m. at the Motel 6 located at 825 E. Dania Beach Blvd.
"Nobody expecting to hear this type of news this morning," said Eddie Robinson, the victim's brother-in-law.
According to BSO, the car crashed into the outside wall of a storage/utility closet. No one else was injured in the crash.
The victim's family says the driver had heart condition, and suspects he may have had a heart attack.
"It looked like he wasn't going very fast," said Robinson. "He had problems with his heart, I know that."
Robinson said the driver lives on the second floor of the motel with his wife.
The driver's body was taken to the Broward Medical Examiner's Office to determine a cause of death.
