MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. -

A man was shot after two carjackers ordered him to drive the duo in his vehicle, police say.

It happened at 1178 NW 79 Street about 5:15 a.m. Saturday.

According to investigators, the victim was purchasing gas when two armed men entered his 2011 Toyota Corolla and told him to leave the area.

As the men forced the victim to drive around, a physical altercation ensued and the victim was able to escape. That's when one of the carjackers fired his gun, striking the victim multiple times, police said.

Investigators said both subjects fled in unknown direction.

The victim was transported to Ryder Trauma Center, where he is listed in stable condition.

The first suspect is believed to be in his 20s and was described as 6 feet tall and 150 pounds. He was wearing a black shirt and red shorts, police said.

The second suspect is believed to be in his late 20s and was described as 6 feet 2 inches tall and 180 pounds. Investigators said he was wearing a black shirt with white letters and white pants.

Anyone with information about the armed carjacking and shooting is urged to contact the Miami-Dade Police Department.
