FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. -

Police are searching for three men who were caught on home surveillance video stealing the propeller from the resident's boat.

The crime occurred on the morning of May 12. Fort Lauderdale police said the surveillance camera on a home at 2518 Arbor Drive captured video of the three thieves.

Police said one man knocked on the door's front home, and when no one answered, he and his two accomplices went through the gate of the wooden privacy fence.

The men went to the resident's boat, grabbed the prop from the motor and left, police said.

Investigators said they have received reports of similar thefts of marine equipment in Fort Lauderdale.
