23-year-old Germithe Geffrard was caught red handed with an illegal credit card scanning device in her work apron, said Coral Springs police.
The Pompano Beach resident was working at the Chili's located at 1650 University Drive in Coral Springs.
The restaurant's loss prevention unit was investigating after getting several reports of fraudulent activity. Chili's determined one of their waitresses was responsible. The alleged thefts happened between February and April of this year.
The waitress would allegedly take credit cards to process payments at the register, then scan the card with her illegal device. It's believed she scanned three or more cards each work day.
According to police, when they arrived at the Chili's they found Geffrard to be in possession of an illegal credit card scanning device located in her work apron.
Geffrard was charged with possession of a scanning device on April 30th.
