The stadium, which once hosted concerts and other events, was destroyed in Hurricane Andrew in 1992.

For years, the building was abandoned, and it was almost demolished.

In 2008, the Marine Stadium initiative was started to bring the theater back to its glory days.

So far, city leaders have secured about half of the funding needed to restore the stadium. They hope to raise another $10 million.
