U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers seized $2.7 million worth cocaine at Miami International Airport Thursday.
Officers found 90 bricks of cocaine in three suitcases during a random search of baggage arriving from Quito, Ecuador. About 231 pounds of cocaine was inside.
“This seizure of cocaine was the direct result of the hard work and dedication of CBP officers who protect the community by detecting and preventing the introduction of narcotics and illicit contraband into the United States,” said Roland Suliveras, CBP port director at Miami International Airport.
No arrests were made at the time of discovery.
