An estimated 30,000 people are expected to join in a local Labor Day Weekend tradition: the Great Grove Bed Race!

This is Coconut Grove's 30th annual bed race.

A total of 30 teams will participate. Each team is made up of five members; four members will push a makeshift bed, while one member sits (or sleeps) in it!

A series of heats will determine which team makes it to the final round.

Races start at 1 p.m., but there will be activities, including a block party and a pajama party afterward.

The event is all for a good cause. This year, 100% of the proceeds from the event will go to Junior Chambers Easter Seals Toy Drive and Children's Hospital.
