The Florida Department of Transportation is scheduled to begin roadwayconstruction on South Dixie Highwayon Monday, July 16th.
The project limits extend along South Dixie Highway, from Southwest 168th Street to Southwest 136th Street in the Village of Palmetto Bay.
The project will cost an estimated $3,736,649.
The work will lastabout nine monthsand includesreplacing sections of the sidewalk, curb and gutter.
Crews also plan to install new pedestrian signals at intersections, and on providing a wider outside lane to accommodate bicycles.
To complete this work safely, it will be necessary to close travel lanes at times.
Tasks will be done in stagesand flagmen will be used to help direct traffic.
