A construction worker broke both of his legs when he fell 15 to 20 feet from a work site Saturday.
It happened at Northwest 12th Avenue and 6th Street after the man was hit by a crane, authorities said.
The man was pouring concrete before the fall.
Miami Fire Rescue's technical rescue team brought the man down from the structure.
"He actually did have a safety harness on. His boots and everything were found on the scene. We created our own harness to verify the safety factor was there and we removed him safely with our equipment," said Captain David Nunez from Miami Fire Rescue.
The construction worker was transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital.
Authorities said the Occupational Safety and Health Administration was called to investigate the accident, which is standard procedure.
