Coral Springs teen dies in car accident
John Lamond, 17, lost control of car
Clenching candles and stuffed animals, hundreds of students from Coral Springs High School gathered Saturday night to remember a fellow student killed in a crash overnight.
Seventeen-year-old John Lamond, a senior at the school, lost control of his Ford Mustang on Rock Island Road and crashed into a tree.
He was airlifted to a hospital where he later died.
Friends described him as someone who always tried to make everyone laugh.
"He was always telling jokes and everything. He was pretty much, down for whatever," Lamond's friend Zack Gojuangco said. "I didn't want anyone to be sad. I wanted everyone to be able to just end on a happy note. Just so everyone has closure."
