STUART, Fla. -

Deputies said they tracked down the man who mugged a woman in the parking lot of a Publix supermarket.

Martin County Sheriff's deputies said the 61-year-old victim was loading groceries into the trunk of her car outside the Publix store on Federal Highway in Stuart on Saturday when she was attacked.

The victim said the mugger pushed a shopping cart into her and then threw a white t-shirt in her face. He pushed the woman to the ground and took off with her purse.

Witnesses called deputies, told them about the mugging and possible getaway car.

Deputies said they found that car a short time later and said the victim's purse was on the floor of the car.

Polce then arrested Jordan Helfrich, 22, who reportedly told deputies that he was “having a rough day."

Helfrich is charged with robbery and battery.

A judge set bond for Helfrich at $20,750. He remains behind bars at the Martin County Jail.
