A stolen boat has been recovered, but the hunt continues for the people who stole it.

Monroe County Sheriff's deputies are looking for the man in the above picture, John Nydam, 30.

Deputies said they got a call from a man on Little Torch Key who saw what he thought was a stolen 21-foot Angler fishing boat.

The man told the two men on the Angler that the boat was stolen. He told them to wait as he went to call for help.

But instead, the men sped away in the boat, beached it nearby and took off running.

Deputies searched for Nydam, but could not find him or the other man.

The boat was recovered and returned to its owner.

Deputies said Nydam is also wanted on outstanding warrants from Venice, Florida.
