Christmas came two days early for 100 South Florida fathers and their children. On Sunday, they spent the day at Santa's Enchanted Forest with Miami Heat star, Dwyane Wade.
Wade partnered with Big Brothers Big Sisters to find the families as his foundation hosted the third event of its "3 Under the Tree" campaign.
Each father received a signed copy of Wade's book, "A Father First: How My Life Became Bigger Than Basketball," an autobiography about life with his two sons.
Some of the dads who were chosen only recently reentered their children's lives, but it seemed all of them were incredibly grateful for his generosity.
"It shows me that there are some superstars out there with a heart," said Christopher Johnson, who enjoyed the day with his daughter. "It means a whole lot, just to spend it with my daughter who I get to rarely see."
Many said they would not have gotten to enjoy without Wade's help. Tickets to the theme park range from about $19 to $27 per person.
"Anytime I get the opportunity to put dads and their kids together in a cool environment, a fun environment different from what you normally do, I try," Wade told Local 10's Sasha Andrade.
The event was not the first time Wade's gone out of his way to give back to the South Florida community.
All of the events were organized by Wade's World Foundation.
