Expelled attorney arrested for loan modification scheme
Miami man collected $9,000 from victims
The Miami-Dade Police Department along with the Mortgage Fraud Task Force have arrested 43-year-old Eduardo A. Exposito for running a mortgage loan modification scheme.
Police say Exposito, who is an expelled attorney, led four victims to believe he had helped them modify their current mortgages. He met with the victims and collected a total of $9,000 from them for services and what he told the victims were lender's fees. When the victims contacted their lenders, the lenders advised they had no record of a loan modification.
Police arrested Exposito on June 14. He is being charged with grand theft, organized scheme to defraud, and forging documents.
Detectives believe there may be more victims. If you believe you have been victimized by Eduardo A. Exposito, contact Detective Michael McMahan of the Mortgage Fraud Task Force at (305) 994-1057.
