Ever wonder what happens to the leftover food at the South Beach Wine and Food Festival?

Before wine lovers and foodies with fat wallets can even clear out from under the tents, volunteers from Feeding South Florida are collecting uneaten delicacies to donate to those less fortunate.

After the Q, a high-dollar barbecue on Thursday, uneaten fruit and unopened bottles of water and cans of soda were collected behind the main event tents. Feeding South Florida makes sure no tenderloin steak bite or hamburger slider goes uneaten; perishable food is wrapped and delivered in refrigerated trucks.

Last year, Feeding South Florida donated more than 30,000 pounds of food to ten soup kitchens in the Miami and Fort Lauderdale area.
