Fiery crash closes southbound Interstate 75 north of Tampa; FHP says 1 northbound lane open
The Florida Highway Patrol reported a major crash involving two commercial vehicles on Interstate 75 north of Tampa Thursday morning.
Troopers say crash happened about 6:30 a.m. Thursday just north of State Road 56 in Pasco County.
The southbound lanes of I-75 are expected to remain closed for up to six hours on Thursday. Only one northbound lane remained open Thursday morning, bringing traffic to a crawl. Motorists are urged to seek alternate routes.
FHP says both vehicles caught fire after the crash and were fully engulfed in flames when authorities arrived.
