Fla. Democrats say Ryan bad for middle class

U.S. Rep. Debbie Wasserman-Schultz says Ryan wants to shred Medicare

BOCA RATON, Fla. – As Mitt Romney's bus tour made its way to Florida, the Democratic National Committee was already here and holding a rally, at which a group of supporters, led by U.S. Rep. Debbie Wasserman-Schultz, accused the Republican Presidential nominee and his new running mate, Congressman Paul Ryan, of throwing America's middle class under the bus.

"There are a lot of Tea Party extremists that are delighted that Mitt Romney has chosen their ideological king", Wasserman-Schultz told reporters. "They've doubled down on embracing extremism, they've doubled down on shredding the safety net that is Medicare, and doubled down on the idea that we should pass more tax breaks for the wealthiest, most fortunate Americans and make the middle class pay for those tax breaks", she said.

The DNC's Boca Raton rally, dubbed "Romney Economics: The Middle Class Under the Bus" Tour, was the last stop on a weekend bus tour that trailed Romney's campaign through Virginia, Washington, Ohio and Florida.

Wasserman-Schultz said Romney was wise not to bring his new running mate to Florida and called Ryan the architect of a plan to shred Medicare, the health care safety net on which so many of Florida's senior's depend.
