Man wanted for his alleged role in a murder in Miami

SCRANTON, Pa. -

Police say a man, who was wanted in connection with a murder in Florida, is in jail in northeastern Pennsylvania.

U.S. Marshal Martin Pane said that 20-year old Lorenzo Vazquez was arrested Thursday in Stroudsburg.

Vazquez was being sought since April after police say he was involved in a murder on April 3rd in Miami.  He is facing second-degree murder charges.

Authorities say Vazquez was taken into custody without incident.

He was turned over to the Stroud Area Police Department for processing and will be charged as a fugitive from justice. He is awaiting court proceedings concerning his extradition to Florida.

It couldn't immediately be determined if he had an attorney.
