Holiday parking courtesy citation program returns to Miami
Drivers whose meters expire get a holiday reprieve
In the spirit of the holiday season, the Miami Parking Authority (MPA) is giving a holiday reprieve to drivers whose parking meters expire.
If your parking meter expires, you will get up to one free hour of parking beyond your expiration time, instead of being issued a ticket.
The program is in effect 24-hours-a-day, every day through Jan. 2.
It applies to all on-street parking spaces managed by MPA.
To be eligible for the courtesy time extension, drivers must have purchased parking at a single-space meter, a Pay & Display master meter, or via Pay by Phone.
The MPA said it wanted to "thank its customers and give back to the community by allowing customers extra time to go about their business in a more relaxed manner."
