Hollywood couple auditions for 'Shark Tank'
Couple hopes to bring invention to the masses
It's a 150 miles from Miami to Orlando, but that's nothing compared to the journey Gerald and Kelly Little have taken to get their Magical Christmas Key on store shelves.
"It's a Christmas product where the children can leave a message for Santa Claus on Christmas Eve," said creator Gerald Little.
So the Hollywood Couple packed up their product, polished their pitch, and stood in line with hundreds of others inventors recently, hoping to strike it rich on one of ABC's hottest shows, Shark Tank.
The fourth season of Shark Tank will consist of 22 episodes.
Only four or five people get picked to be on each show. That means of the thousands of people across the country who audition, only about 100 will get picked to face the Sharks.
"We're looking for people with good business products or ideas, everything from 'I just invented something in my kitchen,' to 'I made a million dollars last year and now I want to make $4 million, I want to make $6 million,'" said Scott Salyers, Shark Tank Producer.
The contestants have one minute to convince a show producer that their product was worthy of the Shark Tank.
We saw a lot of dreams dashed on the spot, but the Magical Christmas Key was well received. The product was sent on for the next round of producers to review.
"I think that this is going to help us catapult our product. Our product is already in many store across the country and I think this is just going to take us to the next level where we need to be, " said Kelly Little.
Producers say even those who don't make a deal on Shark Tank see their business spike just from the exposure of being on the show.
The Little's will know in the next couple of weeks if they'll get the chance to swim with the Sharks.
