President Obama is turning to Hollywood's elite for support on his campaign.
A fundraiser will be held Monday night in Connecticut at the home of movie mogul Harvey Weinstein. The event will be co-hosted by the star of "The Dark Knight Rises," Anne Hathaway, and screenwriter Aaron Sorkin.
Sixty of President Obama's supporters are expected to attend, generating $2 million for the president's re-election campaign.
The fundraiser comes on the same day the Democratic National Committee announced they raised $75 million combined in July, well below rival Mitt Romney's $101 million raised last month.
President Obama has turned to celebrities before for fundraising help. In the past year, he has attended events hosted at the homes of George Clooney, Sarah Jessica Parker and Tyler Perry.
