Humpback whale dies in Fort Pierce Inlet
Veterinarians preparing to do necropsy
A 25-foot long humpback whale that beached in the shallow waters in the Fort Pierce Inlet has died.
The whale was alive when a fisherman found it Monday night.
Wildlife officers were called to the scene, but the animal died.
Marine conservation officials are preparing to do a necropsy on the whale to try and determine what led to its death.
