Jury convicts Tampa woman involved in police shootings; Judge doesn't adjudicate guilty

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — A federal jury has voted to convict a Tampa woman for her part in the deaths of two police officers, but the judge has not adjudicated her guilty.

Following Wednesday's verdict, U.S. District Court Judge James Moody is reserving his ruling on pending motions. The jury has been dismissed.

Brantley's boyfriend, Dontae Morris, is charged with killing Officers David Curtis and Jeffrey Kocab during a traffic stop in June 2010. Morris was riding with Brantley, who was pulled over for not having a license plate. Prosecutors say Brantley fled the scene of the shootings.

Brantley's previous trial ended in a hung jury, and she was being retried on a misprision charge. Prosecutors say she concealed from authorities that Morris was a convicted felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition.
