Tuesday is the last day to submit an application to the Miami-Dade County's 100 magnet schools for the 2013-2014 school year.
Potential students or their parents can submit an application online or by mailing it to Miami-Dade County Public Schools at 1501 NE 2nd Avenue, Suite 237. All mail must be postmarked no later than January 15 in order to qualify.
Each student is able to apply for up to five of over 100 magnet schools in the county.
The random selection process begins on February 28. Parents will be notified by the schools of random selection results by March 15 and must respond with a decision by March 29.
Program themes include career and professions, international programs, liberal arts, mathematics, science and technology, visual and performing arts, and iPrep technology.
The Broward County school district is holding open houses and live web chats for many of its magnet schools during the month of January. The last day to apply in that county is February 13.
