Lynn University prepares for debate
University in Boca Raton hosting final debate
Preparations continued at Lynn University in Boca Raton on Thursday for the third and final presidential debate.
"We're on this march now for these next four days of being, I think, the center of the political universe as it appears," said Lynn University President Dr. Kevin Ross.
President Barack Obama and Mitt Romney will be in Florida for the debate on Monday.
While students and faculty at Lynn University watch the debate, they will also be watching the hoards of photographers and reporters cover the event.
University officials gave Local 10's Janine Stanwood a tour on Thursday.
Crews have been working to transform the Keith C. and Elaine Johnson Wold Performing Arts Center into a television-ready debate hall.
"The truck arrive sometime tomorrow, from what we understand, with the sets that you saw in those other debates," said Ross. "That will be here. It will be built to the spec and they'll be ready to roll."
Specially installed air conditioning units will be above each candidate.
The gym was covered with rows of tables for journalists from across the globe.
"We're only four days out now so we're ready," said Ross.
Journalists covering the debate must pay to keep and power satellite trucks. University officials said the money is going toward the cost of holding the debate.
